Our current programme includes:
Football
Our Kickz football project is run through our partners Reading FC. For just £1 per session your child can join us on our all-weather pitch every Friday evening from 19:30 – 22:00.
Basketball
Our partners at Reading Rockets run our basketball program in the John Madejski Academy Sports Hall. Sessions for children cost £1 per child.
Join in weeknights from 17:30 – 22:00.
(Wednesdays: Whitley Rockets, 8–12 year-olds only)
Badminton
No Strings™ Badminton 'pay-and-play' sessions, just £1 per child, run in our Sports hall at the following times:
Tuesdays: 20:00 – 21:00
Saturdays: 08:30 – 09:30
ZumbAtomic is the crazy-cool dance-fitness workout for kids aged 4–12. Classes cost just £3 per child and run every Thursday at the following times:
15:45 – 16:15 for 4–7 year-olds
16:15 – 17:00 for 8–12 year-olds
For children under 8
We run Parent and toddler pool sessions for £3.65 (one adult one child) at the following times:
Fridays: 9:30 – 10:30
For children under 7
Bounce around (soft play) sessions for £1.50 (per child)
on Fridays from 13:30 – 15:30
AcademySport Swim School follows the teaching principles set out by the National Plan for Teaching Swimming, we deliver each stage as set out by the Amateur Swimming Association [ASA], and all children are certified at completion of each of our 7 stages, click here for details.
Our ‘parent and toddler’ sessions encourage early years swimmers to develop basic motor skills through enjoyment of the water.
Fundamental movement skills which build confidence, buoyancy, stroke technique and safety awareness can then be developed from stages 1-7 of our Swim School courses.
We liaise with many swim clubs so that swimmers of appropriate standard can be put straight in contact with a club for fundamental sport skills and more competitive training.
To apply for a place please download our SwimSchool application form and hand it in at Reception. We give children (aged 5–16) enrolled on a course free swimming membership for the duration of the Swim School term so they can practise their new skills as much as they like!
