Wet Zumba! All the same Latin moves slowed right down and exaggerated. It raises your heart rate and gives you a great cardiovascular endurance work out as well as whole body conditioning. A low-impact, non-weight bearing class for all.
50+ Aerobics
A mixture of low-impact aerobic moves and conditioning exercises to help maintain mobility and posture, perfect for those who want to keep fit and active.
This is a fun, and sociable class aimed at maintaining health. This class is suitable for those with known COPD (Cardio Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder) and anyone who has a GP referral.
Aqua aerobics
A class consisting of continuous movements in the water. The use of aqua fitness equipment shapes and tones your body, and the constant resistance of the water keeps your heart rate up. Water-based exercise also develops cardiovascular endurance and help work your muscles without punishing your joints and bones.
Body blast
A high-tempo, body conditioning class, requiring lots of energy. It can take a variety of formats to suit the abilities of the class, exercises will include use of dumbbells, barbells, steps, mats, resistance bands, and much more. This class will tone all muscle groups, increases cardiovascular endurance, and improves bone density through weight bearing exercise.
Body combat*
This is an empowering *totally unleashed* cardio workout. It’s a fiercely energetic program, inspired by martial arts and drawing from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. It tones, shapes, increases strength, confidence and cardiovascular endurance.
Body pump
This is a barbell class designed to sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast!
Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl.
Bootcamp Starts 2 January!
This is a fun and intense way to get fit fast!
Bootcamp mixes up a range of different body-weight exercises to help you lose weight and increase stamina.
COPD
This specialised class is suitable for anyone diagnosed with Cardio Obstructive Pulmonary Disorders. Participants must be referred by their GP.
Circuits and abs
Strength training focusing on a variety of exercises with short rests between stations.
This class concentrates on abs to strengthen core and torso areas. Keeps the heart rate up and works each major muscle group.
Indoor cycling
A high-energy, stationary-bike work out, enhancing cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. A personal workout in a class environment. Individually adjust your own resistance level and focus on your cadence, gradient, tension and body position. Suited to all fitness levels from beginners through to elite cyclists.
Kettlebells Starts 2 January!
This is a strength and endurance building class ideal for weight loss.
Movements such as the 'swing', 'clean-and-jerk' and 'snatch' help to build strength in the lower back, legs and shoulders as well as increasing grip strength.
Pilates
Pilates focuses on building strength without building muscle mass and developing both mental and physical fitness. This class increases flexibility, develops leaner muscles, improves posture and improves coordination which combine to increase over all strength.
Stretch and tone
This is a mind and body class, encompassing techniques from Pilates, Yoga, and Tai Chi. This class will improve core stability, postural alignment, flexibility and suppleness as well as lengthening muscles and conditioning your body. Suitable for all ages and abilities it can also form part of an active recovery program or rehabilitation from injury.
Suspension training Starts 2 January!
This is form of resistance training and is designed to develop strength, balance, flexibility and joint stability. The work out is focused on body-weight exercises and is performed using a rope attached to the ceiling.
Total abs
This class is not designed to give you a six pack but rather to train all muscles around the core and torso. Classes vary each time but can involve floor work, core ball work, medicine balls and weights, and some simple stretching.
Zumba*
Zumba is all about the “party”. It combines traditional Latin dance styles including salsa, mambo, cha-cha, cumbia and meringue with hip-hop and belly dancing moves.
Enhances cardiovascular endurance as well as muscular tone and body conditioning.
A fun and sociable class open to all abilities.
ZumbAtomic is the crazy-cool dance-fitness workout for kids aged 4–12. Classes cost just £3 per child and run every Thursday at the following times:
15:45 – 16:15 for 4–7 year-olds
16:15 – 17:00 for 8–12 year-olds
